First Baptist Church of Aurora
Our Story
When God gave the vision to First Baptist Church Aurora 15 years ago to become a multi-ethnic congregation, no one had any idea the magnitude of what God wanted to accomplish through us. We knew that our community is changing, we knew that we were ill-equipped to meet the changing needs of our community, and we knew we needed God’s help to make that vision a reality. It has been an exciting, painful, messy, and rewarding journey ever since...

"My life before I accepted Christ was a hassle. I would follow what everyone else did. A lot of things I knew, weren't right. I even got into a lot of fights. Ever since I joined the youth group, I would start to realize church was not just an occasional thing. Family and the people of the church was how I became exposed to the dynamic Christianity. It set a whole new point of view in my eyes. My attitude started to change. The way I talk changed in a way-after I accepted Christ. I thrive to be closer to God. Inspire others. To recognize God so my faith can grow in him. God is my helper."
"...He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ," Philippians 1:6
FBC was my first church when I came to Colorado in 1978. For whatever rebellious reason, I left. I had been unsettled and could not stay steady in another church; while my wife, Heidi, was working as a caretaker in AZ. In 2016, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, "Go home to your first church-FBC." And so I did. Since then I have been more involved and fulfilled with spiritual peace. Right place, right time. What a loving family, atmosphere and spirit of Jesus. Prayer power partners are strong here. The Teachers have real caring hearts. Men's Bible study is good and honest-we stay accountable together..."
